A large, multicultural 'new town' with plenty to do

Are you looking for things to do in Harlow? We've got plenty of great ideas for you across the town.

Known for...   Sir Frances Gibberd and Sculptures

Did you know...

  • The town was the site of the UK's first purpose-built sports centre, Harlow Sports Centre, in 1960.
  • In 2009 Harlow Council voted to celebrate Harlow's collection of sculpture by branding Harlow as 'Harlow Sculpture Town - The World's First Sculpture Town'.
  • The town is notable being the location of Britain's first pedestrian precinct, and first modern-style residential tower block, The Lawn, constructed in 1951; it is now a Grade II listed building.
