Chippenham is a vibrant Wiltshire market town in the South West of England. It is just a few miles from the old Roman city of Bath and within easy commuting distance of Swindon and Bristol. The town has a long and interesting history, with a modern new look to many parts of the town which now has a population of over 40,000 inhabitants.

Did you know...

  • The town was believed to have been founded by Anglo Saxons around AD 600.
  • The town holds an annual festival to mark the death of singer Eddie Cochran, who died on 17 April 1960 following a car crash in Chippenham.
